FAA to EASA ATPL Conversion

Step 1: Requirements

Ensure the following requirements are in place, to be sent to your training consultant upon request.

EASA ICAO English Level 4

Minimum English proficiency requirement

EASA Medical Class I

Valid Class I medical certificate

EASA RTR Examination

Radio Telephony Restricted examination

Valid FAA IR, SEP, and MEP

Current licenses required

Valid Passport and Visa

Step 2: Your Training Path

Complete your conversion at our European bases by following these tailored steps.

PPL Conversion & Time Building

If the above-mentioned requirements are fulfilled, then you can complete your PPL Conversion and Time Building at one of our European bases in Prague or Brno.

CB-IR/IR, MEP & CPL Training

You will further complete your Instrument Rating, MEP (Multi-Engine) and CPL (Commercial Pilot License) training in Prague, Czech Republic. You will complete your practical training, including required flight hours and time-building.

ATPL Theory

In case you want to convert your license to EASA ATPL Frozen, it is necessary to undergo ATPL theory. The ATPL Theory consist of 14 subjects, including KSA-100.

Important Note

If you are a CPL holder converting to EASA, please review the specific pathway requirements below:

Option 1

More than 50 hours logged as IFR PIC

PIC in the sense of EASA regulation, therefore without an instructor on board, or rather completed after your IR has been issued by the FAA. EASA recognizes hours logged as "simulated instrument" or "actual instrument" as IFR hours.

Option 2

At least 10 hours IFR PIC within EU/EASA airspace

You will just need to demonstrate to the examiner theoretical knowledge of the following subjects in the scope of IR: Air Law, Flight Planning and Monitoring, Communication (to convert PPL with IR privileges), and pass the skill test with the examiner.

If you do not meet the above-stated conditions:

You will need to complete theoretical exams in the scope of IR at the Authority in the following subjects: Air Law, Flight Planning and Monitoring, Communication, and acclimatization flights in the ATO, after which you can pass the skill test with the examiner (to convert PPL with IR privileges).
