What is the Jet Orientation Course – JOC?
Jet Orientation Course – JOC is an additional training intended for MCC certificate holder without any jet handling experience.
The JOC – Jet Orientation Course or Jet Familiarization Course is an advanced training dedicated to future Airline pilots with no jet handling experience. It’s the bridge between the General Aviation aircraft and Commercial Aviation aircraft and it’s also a preparation course for an airline assessment. Nowadays, many airlines require the completion of the JOC for the pilot to be considered for the selection process.
Even if the Airline is not requesting it, the JOC will give you a competitive advantage, as it will make you feel more comfortable in the cockpit of an airliner during the simulator assessment.
What are the Jet Orientation Course – JOC entry requirements?
The Jet Orientation Course – JOC course entry requirements are as follows:
- to be a CPL(A) holder with MEP/ IR
You need to be a holder of a valid EASA Commercial Pilot License – CPL(A) with MEP/IR rating. - to be MCC certificate holder
You need to be a holder of a valid Multi Crew Cooperation – MCC certificate.
What will I learn during Jet Orientation Course – JOC training?
The aim of the course is to make you familiar with jet handling and prepared for the future Airline pilot position. During the course you will be introduced to the Autoflight System, Flight Director, EFIS or PFD/ND instrumentation and the handling of normal and non-normal procedures (i.e. Engine Failures).
The Jet Orientation Course – JOC is conducted on FNPT II Boeing B737NG FBS – Fixed Base Simulator.
For best training results we recommend that the JOC to be conducted in combination with the MCC.
