Once you complete your Multi Engine Piston training, you will get your MEP(A) qualification added on your EASA Private Pilot License – PPL(A) or EASA Commercial Pilot License – CPL(A).
The Multi Engine Piston rating is valid for 12 months and is renewed with a flight test with a Flight Examiner.

Step 1: complete the practical training (and the theoretical training if required)
Flying Academy will develop an individual flight training program for the student based on the scope of flight training required for the initial issue of the MEP(A) class rating. Flight training is focused on aspects which are appropriate for the student.
- class rating expired less than three months:
No need for renewal flight training. You can proceed with the renewal flight test with EASA flight examiner. - class rating expired more than 3 months but less than one year:
At least two flights are required to be prepared for the renewal flight test. - class rating expired more than one year but less than three years:
At least three flights are required to be prepared for the renewal flight test. - class rating expired for more than three years:
You should complete flight training again in the scope and duration, which is required for the first issue of the EASA MEP(A) class rating.
Step 2: pass a practical flight examination
After successful completion of MEP(A) renewal flight training, the applicant is recommended for the renewal flight test with an flight examiner.
To prove your practical skills, you will need to pass practical flight test with an approved examiner.
You will need to prove your ability to:
- operate the airplane within its limitations,
- complete course specific manoeuvres as smooth and as accurate as possible,
- exercise good judgment and airmanship,
- apply aeronautical knowledge,
- maintain control of the airplane at all times.
